Bonaire Leadership

Fundamental to the structure and shape of any United Methodist Church, the congregation is led in a team approach by gifted, volunteer lay people, paid staff persons, and clergy who are appointed by the Bishop.

Our Ministry Teams are where our entire church plays a part in serving each other, our community, and the world. They include: Hospitality, Missions, Students, Kids, Events, Office & Administration, Care, and Worship. Email Jessi Marlow to connect with a Ministry Team Leader or find out where you can serve.

Bonaire is located in the North Central District of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, which is the regional body of The United Methodist Church. It includes the geographical area of South Georgia with Columbus, Macon, and Waynesboro as the Northern boundary, and Alabama, Florida and South Carolina making up the other borders. South Georgia includes 6 smaller geographical divisions called “districts.”

The South Georgia Conference is overseen by Bishop Lawson Bryan; read more about our Bishop here.

Safe Sanctuaries

Safe Sanctuaries is the name commonly given by United Methodist Annual Conferences and local churches to their individual efforts to make conferences, districts, and local church programs welcoming and safe for children, youth, and vulnerable adults. Bonaire’s purpose is to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all our children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
